Johnny Law started the Pistol Packin’ Daddies band under the name of The Hellfire Trio back in 2001, but later changed it to the Pistol Packin’ Daddies. For the next few years the band played around Western Australia and the lineup changed a number of times during this period.
“They had a very raw, real, traditional rockabilly sound. To me, they have a mix between Johnny Carroll, The Johnny Burnette Trio, and early Elvis Sun Records stuff and throw in a bit of a modern sound as well.” – Jay from the Opening Set
“With an energetic live act, this band shows off its style of classic rockabilly mixed with swing, rare vocals, catchy ballads and even some Mexican influences.” – Rootscd.com
