Whether playing 60’s\, 70’s\, 80’s\, 90’s\, 21st century or blues\, 43 Cambridge have always been able to tailor a set list thanks to front man Ray’s keen ability to read a room. \n43 Cambridge have played across Australia… from singing for their supper at Eucla Roadhouse\, to shutting down production at Murrin Murrin mine. They’ve played at The Espy in St Kilda\, Settlers Tavern in Margaret River\, Broome\, Adelaide\, Fremantle\, Sydney Wagga Wagga\, Exmouth\, Kalgoorlie\, Albany\, and most places in between. Pubs\, clubs\, weddings\, parties\, corporate and festivals. They’ve played to crowds of ten to ten thousand. \nAlthough a rock ‘n roll act (described as Perth’s ‘Black Crowes’ by Jim from ‘Blue Shaddy’) they have been regulars at the Perth Blues Club\, recording a live album there\, “Too Fast For Blues” which led to appearances at The Bridge Town Blues Festival and West Coast Blues and Roots Festival. Renowned as one of the country’s consummate live acts\, the tour will also continue Cog‘s celebrations of the long-awaited release of their seminal albums The New Normal (2005) and Sharing Space (2008) on vinyl for the first time ever\, as well as the first pressing of their compilation record Just Visiting (2008). Tickets for The Vinyl Tour Continued are currently on sale now and available here. \n“After the success of the initial shows early in the year we are stoked to add seven more shows to The Vinyl Tour continued!” – Cog \nEmerging in the late 90s\, Cog‘s enduring legacy on the heavy music landscape has traversed decades\, global touring\, and a jubilant reunion back in 2016. Via their early EPs\, 2000’s Pseudo and part one and part two of 2002’s Just Visiting\, the behemoth reputation of the Sydney-hailing trio would firmly cement in 2005 in the form of their debut full-length The New Normal. I think it allows us to step back from the other responsibilities in our life for just a minute and set our minds on one thing at a time\nWe have said it before but I think it’s something we will have to say as long as we are putting out records\, that being our desire to keep trying to force ourselves out of a specific ‘ one genre band’ and explore new ideas within the sound that we have developed so far.\nThe new album contains the classic grogans formula of heavier songs\, cruiser songs and acoustic tracks. The band is equally adept at capturing the essence of Young’s two primary styles: from the gentle folk and country-rock of albums like “Comes A Time” and “Harvest”\, to the electric guitar-driven rock of the Crazy Horse days.\nThe ‘Human Highway’ is fronted by long-time lovers of Neil Young\, David Hyams and Rose Parker and the 6 piece line up also includes some of Australia’s finest – Roy Martinez on bass and keyboards\, Russell Wilson on drums\, fiddler Adam Gare\, and Jeremy Threlfall on the pedal steel and guitar.\n1972 was a year memorable for the Munich Olympics\, a landslide victory for US President Richard Nixon and later\, the Watergate scandal coming to light. It spawned the no.1 hit “Heart of Gold” as well as classics “Old Man”\,“ Alabama” and “Needle and the Damage Done”. The album was also remarkable for Young’s collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra.\nThe Human Highway are an all star line up from WA fronted by David Hyams and Rose Parker and featuring Roy Martinez on bass and keyboards\, drummer Russell Wilson\, fiddler Adam Gare and Jeremy Threllfall on pedal steel and electric guitars.
