It’s not all that often that three musicians draw together with boldly different personalities\, influences\, and life experiences to create music that perfectly reflects this fact. \nMatt Cooper is a window cleaner by trade though don’t let his day-to-day employment sway your perception of the man. Cooper is a tinkerer a perfectionist a partially deaf guitarist whose search for exotic and interesting tones gives rise to an ever-evolving sound for the three-piece. Forever altering his musical tools\, Matt occasionally leaves the pedantic vocalist and comedic drummer somewhat exasperated\, though this exasperation quickly turns to delight when something fresh bends its way from a finely tuned Fender. \nJoe Franzone is the youngest of the three\, a man caught between comedy\, acting\, ridiculous haircuts\, social influencer\, and finally where his true talent lies\, behind a set of Pro-Mark drum sticks he regularly pretends are wizards wands. And a wizard he is. To see the depth of concentration ripple across the lad’s visage as his explosive\, and intricate drumming style ignites a Grand Casual live set\, leaving the audience spellbound is something truly special. Wizardry abounds with revelers floored by the realization that Joe is drumming one-handed and taking the role of bass player with his second hand\, musicians’ favorite milk crates holding his second weapon of choice a Novation Bass Station Synthesiser. \nKyron spent his younger years imagining how it would feel to perform as a solitary vocalist\, allowed to move where an accompanying guitar would not allow\, allowed to dance the way a smooth surface\, wide-open space\, enthralled audience\, and lack of inhibition would allow. Able to drift vocals across music drawn forth by two of the most exuberant performers regional WA has produced. Finally\, he has that chance\, finally\, he gets to channel Elvis\, Jim Morrison\, Johnny Cash\, Keenan Maynard\, heroes\, legends enraptured by the bliss that is live performance. Kyron is pedantic\, over organized\, quick to stress\, this persona fades away when Grand Casual takes the stage. \nA stellar run of dates in Feb and March 2021 saw the lads hit the live circuit hard with epic performances at Nannup Music Festival\, Clancy’s Fremantle\, South Side of Summer Esperance\, and Wamfest proving “there’s nothing casual about these guys”. \n\nDallas Radio\n\nDallas Radio are a 5-piece Australian rock band from Dunsborough\, WA. The band formed in early 2019 largely from the division of two bands\, Dallas Royal and Desert Radio. \nLead by spirited front man Mitch Baker\, the new band quickly returned to form playing venues across the south west of WA. \nDallas Radio’s reputation for\nconsistently delivering pumping rock shows soon lead to the band headlining a festival tour across the country that culminated in the final show at The Domain in Sydney playing to\na crowd of 18\,000. \nWith live shows on hold last year due to COVID19\, the band quickly shifted focus to writing new music that draws from their diverse range of influences and\nexperience supporting acts such as Cog\, British India\, Dune Rats\, Jebediah\, Phil Jameson and Josh Pyke. \nTheir unique brand of\nentertainment fuses big vocals and catchy melodies with 90’s style guitar riffs and plenty of stage presence to make you get\nup and party. \nRecent easing of COVID\nrestrictions in WA means\nDallas Radio are back playing live gigs. They’ve wasted no time in\nshowcasing their new music\, which is resonating very well with audiences and secured them a WAMFEST show at Amplifier Bar in Perth. \nThe band is also busy in the\nrecording studio and will be\nplaying a series of live shows coinciding with the release of their first single ‘Suffering’ in late\nJuly 2021.

DESCRIPTION:Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative\nFREE ENTRY\n\nFacebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/134306861816807/\nThe genre-defying Steve Hensby Band are heavy on the horns and very danceable!\n2020 has seen the release of their third album ‘Modern Music For Modern People’ to rave reviews\, both national (Triple J) and international radio play\, and busy dance floors at live shows.\n\nTheir well-received self-titled double album debut (2017) featured folk and world influences fused to make a gypsy/circus style album. ‘Wake Up In Bordeaux’ made it to the Top 20 WA songs of 2017. For 2019’s follow up\, ‘Chase the Sun’\, they drew from soul/funk/world music and added a slamming five-piece horn section. The title track is a collaboration with MC Optamus from WA hip hop legends\, Downsyde.\n\nSteve Hensby is a Berklee College of Music graduate and WAMI nominated musician who also works as a session player in the Perth area. He has played with the likes of Tim Minchin\, Steve Poltz\, WASO\, Perth Symphony Orchestra and Taasha Cootes.\n\nReviews\n\n“The songs here (Modern Music For Modern People) were so good\, I didn’t feel the need to follow the story too closely. DESCRIPTION:Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative\nFREE ENTRY\nDave Rastrix Trio play a mix of jazz-reggae and world-soul styles and is comprised of three busy session musicians\, who join together to play with the spirit of spontaneously and passion\, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats\, or dancing. \nDavid Rastrick is a trumpet player\, multiple instrumentalist and songwriter who has played with literally hundreds of bands throughout south-west Australia. Rastrick toured Australia with his solo show last year. In the trio\, David Rastrick (aka Dave Rastrix) fronts the group on vocals\, trumpet and flugelhorn\, while concurrently underpinning the sound with fretless bass. The flugelhorn is a type of trumpet with a warmer tone\, and made popular by trumpeters such as Chuck Mangione and Hugh Masekela. \n“I enjoy diversity in my life\,” said Dave Rastrick. “I like manifesting this in my music\, and draw from a heap of different musical styles to make an interesting repertoire.”\n \nKevin McDonald is one of the most in demand musicians in the south west\, with his command of guitar and bass in all jazz and contemporary styles and a diploma in classical guitar.  Kevin studied at the prestigious Berklee School of Music along with fellow Canadian musician Diana Krall. Kevin plays in about one-hundred duos\, several jazz bands\, country\, rock and soul bands\, and fronts his own guitar-frenzy surf music band ‘The Frothers’. \nRastrick and McDonald combine their diverse experience\, talents and musical passions to intersect in a rare musical meeting.
