DESCRIPTION:Hailing from South West WA\, and inspired by the Blackwood River in flood\, Blackwood Rising are a blues fuelled force of nature. Two blokes\, guitars and drums. A finely balanced and nuanced relationship forged on a mutual love of music spiced by utter contempt for each other\, offset by an abiding musical brotherhood and grudging respect (and a healthy sense of humour) that only two decades of playing together can achieve. Fingerpicking and some bottleneck slide\, alternate tunings\, an octave pedal\, a drumkit hit like it owes money and a disdain for technology is their thing. As well as gigging up and down the state on their own they’ve also supported the likes of Rick Steele\, Blue Shaddy\, The Black Sorrows and 19-Twenty.
