Due to popular demand and sell-out live shows, The Soul Movers have announced additional dates to their current national tour.

After releasing their album Testify! in late 2017, The Soul Movers have been on the road touring their unique soul-rock R&B sound around the country since February this year.

Originally formed by charismatic frontwoman Lizzie Mack in conjunction with Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman), the group has evolved over the years. The line-up now features guitarist Murray Cook (The Wiggles) on lead guitar with original bass player Andy Newman, drummer Darren Ryan and newest member Marko Simec on keys. Marko replaces Pip Hoyle on keys, bringing with him a magical live stage presence and a new and modern pulse to the band's sound.

Keeping it in the family the album, Testify! was recorded at legendary Hot Potato Studios in 2017 and features Pip Hoyle (Radio Birdman) on the keyboard and cameos by other luminaries including Jeff Fatt (The Wiggles, The Cockroaches) Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman) and Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens).

The Soul Movers have received rave reviews, with music that travels across the musical spectrum, from modern soul, to old school rhythm & blues, retro rock 'n' roll alongside power ballads sung straight from the heart. Taken home after live shows, punters review Testify! on social media – loving the power of the songwriting and integrity of the old school feel.

"To testify means to show evidence of something you believe in and hold to be true; how we live, we love, we wonder and we question. Testify! is indeed our musical proof and fans of our live music are totally relating to this reality as the Soul Movers family spreads and grows." – Lizzie Mack

Having toured in 2017 to North America, including performances at SXSW, the band will be returning to record and perform live shows in July and August from LA to NYC as part of filming for an upcoming music documentary, currently in pre-production.

Taking legendary studio owner and engineer Phil Punch along with them, Sam Phillip's original sound gear at Sun Studios will be restarted and used to record Soul Movers new tracks. Al Green's 8 Track at Royal will be given the same service with new material extending into gospel and rockabilly territory. Finally, the legendary "Swampers" of Muscle Shoals Sound Studios will reform and collaborate to record the bulk of the album as The Soul Movers go deep to the roots of their sound.

Previous to announcing their Australian national tour, the band has been performing sold-out shows throughout Sydney.
