Friday 6th July, 9:30pm. Free Entry

Rastatrix reggae band bring their uplifting sounds to you with a south-west mini-tour this July weekend.

Rastatrix - from Denmark, Western Australia - play funky reggae with a twist.  Rastatrix' mission is to play their fun and inspiring original and classic songs of love, revolution and freedom at festivals, venues and parties - wherever people are keen to dance and have a good time.

In 2018 Rastatrix song 'Clarity' was nominated in the world music section of the WAM songwriting competition, and the song was featured on the 'Sounds of the Great Southern' and 'Kiss my WAMi' WAM compilations and the Fairbridge Festival compilation. Nigel Bird of WAM was quoted as saying "I knew you guys would bring the party!"

Rastatrix' sound features David Rastrick's epic trumpet improvisations and brass-lines, with three part vocal harmonies over a solid rhythm section. Reggae icon Bob Marley once said that all styles of music can fit into reggae, and this West Australian group does just that, mixing funk, jazz, soul, world music and even hard rock into their sound along with classic reggae based styles such as ska, dub, roots and drum'n'bass.

The Rastatrix five piece reggae band features David Rastrick - Vocals/Trumpets/Keys, Jonelle Grokowski - Vocals & percussion, Xander 'Orbital Xander' Rowden - Guitar/Vocals; Brad Anderson - Bass, and Mark Gretton - Drum-kit.

If you're ready to dance, or just love reggae or fun live music, check out Rastatrix at Settlers Tavern from 9pm on Friday 6thof July.
