Formed in 2015 around guitarist/vocalist Craig Jovanovic's quest for pure 70s rock'n'roll ecstasy with drummer Nick Dudman, bassist Simon Hallett and lead guitarist Mark De Vattimo. The band would get straight down to business re-working the existing and writing new material.

Maverick delivers slick and sleek southern blues based rock music with that classic feel of denim and sweat.

In 2016, the band recorded its first album, teaming up with Kenny Watt and Electric City Studios to capture the magic and 40 high voltage minutes of groove laden rock'n'roll ensued.

"...BREAK ME that follows will keep you listening: built on a huge groove and great riff and exploring as it does life's eternal themes this is Soul Food for the ears, and sweet Southern BBQ for the discerning. It's heavier, harder and might even make you think of 'Rival Sons'; it's that well-constructed it oozes confidence and attitude." - 2017

Maverick co-headlined the 2016 Westdale Rock and more recently supported The Darkness on their 2017 Perth leg of the world tour.

"...Maverick launched their debut album Firebird on a cold Friday night at Badlands, Perth. If you haven't seen these guys live, you really should, they delivered an energetic set of their Blues based Southern rock and the boys certainly know how to entertain a crowd… especially after fine-tuning their live shows on some big stages of late, including opening for The Darkness just recently on their latest Australian tour." 2017

The band has recently signed with French label Bad Reputation for distribution of the debut album throughout Europe. "...These guys are technically skillful, but they also know how to reach the listener with tension, passion and emotion."

"...Maverick are the new and upcoming, they are a hard-working band that have stepped up their game faster than I've seen any band do considering they have only been together since mid 2015." - Abby Fuzz (XpressMag)
