Fenton developed a keen interest in the blues when he first moved to The States as the local library had a large selection of blues which caught his eyes and ears, he found he was drawn to the older more primal blues recordings of the late 1920's to the 1950's and started buying books and increasing his knowledge of the genre.

Howlin' Wolf had a tough electric sound and the Wolf's voice was so unique that Fenton started playing a few of his songs in his own performances. A friend suggested recording some of Howlin Wolf's songs just as an experiment and Howlin' Back is the result.

Recorded in Los Angeles at Govt Mules home studio Rogers Boat, with some extra recording in Adelaide at Karisma,  Mixed in Marrickville by Ben Moore at Harvest Recordings. Nov 14th sees the release of D Henry Fentons new EP  Howlin' Back (4 songs by Howlin' Wolf)
