Modern Australian cooking is driven by local produce and world flavours:
Margaret River Wagyu beef, Mount Barker free range chicken, Nannup Cambray cheese, local organic EVOO, Margaret River venison chorizo, Garden Basket Margaret River vegetables, Margaret River free range eggs are southwest specialties on the Tavern menu. There is always a great selection of fresh caught local Augusta WA "34 Degrees Blue" fish and plenty of pub favourites like Chicken (free range) Parma, Lamb Curry, Laksa and Spag Bol.
The famed Burger Royale, a big wagyu beef burger should keep the wolves at bay and the traditional California style tacos made from soft corn tortillas, will give you an idea of what real Mexican food is all about. And of course there's the classic Steak Sandwich as well as the premium steaks; Wagu, Scotch Fillet and "Reef & Beef."

When it comes to seafood and when you're this close to the ocean you really want to know what you're eating! We source all of our fish line-caught from local waters where ever possible, we always know where it comes from - just ask! WA Scallops, WA Prawns, local crab when available.
Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a local classic and the Margaret River 2010 ssb's are now in full swing - everchanging we usually have a couple on offer, maybe Flametree, Grace Farm, Hay Shed Hills, Two Brothers a new one on the street from an old family vineyard Fermoy, Edwards and many more..... and its great chance to chill out with your ssb with some "spine tingling" fresh oysters, shucked to order, served on ice, from South Australia’s pristine southern oceans. (Yes! when we say shucked to order, we mean the kitchen will shuck them especially for you...when you order them - none of this pre-shucked or frozen oysters at Settlers Tavern, and its a rare find in WA!)
At Settlers Tavern the menu is vast and the portions are large. Not to mention daily specials - Tasmanian salmon, linguine, Margaret River venison sausages - it just depends on what's available. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes and kids meals are available.
When touring the wine-country or after a long drive from the city, Settlers Tavern provides good country hospitality, serving the FULL MENU from 12noon all-day, every-day last orders are at 8:30pm (Except on special event band nights when last orders are approximately 8pm). No need to go hungry or worry about making a reservation, just drop in for a small plate, the Settlers local produce platter, full meal or glass of local wine from Australia's Best Pub Restaurant of the year 2011 & 2010 wine list and Australia's Best Pub Restaurant Wine List 2009 - 3 glass ratings and we recently won the 2011 award! Three years running puts us very close to hall of fame.
Settlers Tavern provides hi-speed internet to customers, so bring your laptop and plan your Margaret River wine tour over a beer, glass of wine ......or did you know? Settlers Tavern serves one of the best coffees in town! Our trained baristas use local Yahava KoffeeWorks fresh roasted organic fair trade coffee with Bannister Downs Dairy organic milks in all of your favourite styles. No wonder Settlers Tavern is one of the busiest places in town!
Reservations: we don't take bookings - there's no need! There's plenty of room and we serve the full menu all day from 12noon, just check in with us on arrival and we will find the right table for you. If you are a large group, please come in prior to 6:30 and we should be able to fit you in.
